Owners Eric and Stephani Smith have both worked in the restaurant hospitality industry for over 30 years.  Eric's expertise is in kitchen management and operations while Stephani's focus is on the front of the house.  They met cooking and waiting tables at Arnie's in Edmonds, a well-known seafood restaurant right on the Puget Sound.


Stephani received her Bachelor of Arts in Child Development & Education from Western Washington University.  I also did volunteer work with University Christian Ministries and spent two years after college on staff with them.  Waiting tables during college introduced me to the restaurant industry, beginning at Lee's Family Diner.  We all have to start somewhere!  From there I made the leap to Alexander's Manor and then fine dining with Holland America Westours.  I moved to Edmonds and waited tables at Arnie's-an excellent seafood house right on Puget Sound.  There i became the wait staff trainer and began in restaurant management.  Hospitality is in my bloodstream.  I'd rather be interacting with the customer than in the office.  I wear many hats as most small business owners do, but I love being on the floor engaging the guest.


Eric has always been about excellent quality food and managing people.  He has cooked and managed restaurants throughout the Puget Sound.  The Lobster Shop in Tacoma, Wa.  was his first kitchen managers job and from there he has managed such places as, C.I. Shenanigan's in Tacoma, The Keg in Factoria, The Brass Rail in Renton, and Mulligan's in Seattle.  Eric met Stephani at Arnie's in Edmonds, Washington and it was in Edmonds that he obtained his Bachelors of Arts degree from Puget Sound Christian College.  Prior to that he took culinary classes from Tacoma Community College and most recently obtained his Processor Certificate from the Food Sciences Department at UC Davis. (Eric has always desired to bottle and sell his specialty sauces, dressings, and rubs).  Eric brings strong leadership to our company.  He has the ability to lead with fairness and strength.  He believes that every employee, guest and manager be treated with fairness and respect. 


Eric and Stephani have previously owned and operated three restaurants in the last twenty years; Stephani's Main Street Cafe-a small upscale American fare house that specialized in breakfast and lunch.  Our second location was Stephani's Stir Fire Grill, a larger dinner house specializing in Certified Black Angus Steaks, gourmet salads and a Mongolian stir fry bar.  We are entrepreneurs at heart and our next enterprise was Stephani's Restaurant by the Bay on beautiful Birch Bay with the emphasis on excellent fresh seafood.  Unfortunately we were forced to leave this successful location when the landlords defaulted on the property and it was taken by the lender.  This turn of events forced us to look far and wide for a location we could purchase ourselves.  When we looked at this current location in Colville, it had been sitting empty for several years, just waiting to be brought back to life.  In the fall of 2006 we packed all our furniture and fixtures in Uhaul trucks and began a new adventure in this beautiful part of our State.
